Partners in Design with The League of Enchantment

By McDaniels Kitchens and Bath|Events

We welcomed another amazing design partner to our Lansing, MI showroom for our latest Partners in Design event. All our partners are local businesses or organizations that enhance our community with their amazing products, services, and volunteer work. It’s safe to say that our June event will stick with the participants for a long time to come.

What is the Partners in Design event program?

McDaniels hosts a popular monthly event series called Partners in Design, which brings together members of our community to meet local business owners or representatives of local organizations. Each month, the design partner shares their journey, tells us about their business or organization, and provides us insight into their products, services, or community activism. Every month is a new design partner, which means a fresh opportunity to learn something new about our Lansing area community!

The League of Enchantment

We were honored to welcome our June partner, The League of Enchantment, on June 18th to our Lansing, MI showroom. This local volunteer organization does truly inspiring work in our community. They are a 501c3 Nonprofit organization with a mission to work with local hospitals, community organizations, and events to bring hope and smiles to kids and kids at heart. The volunteers use the power of cosplay to make a difference in the lives of kids they meet, greeting them with a smile, hug, photo, or conversation. They are an official partner of Make-a-Wish and also work with The American Cancer Society, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Easter Seals, Autism Speaks, and many more.

Our June Event

Our event this month was both inspiring and emotional for everyone who attended. Katie and Michelle represented The League of Enchantment and gave our participants a 45-slide presentation filled with photos from the events they attended. This really gave us a sense of who they are and the impact they have on the community. The organization’s membership has grown both here and in its location in Chicago.

They shared with us incredibly moving stories of visiting children in hospital or hospice care, and they even got choked up telling us their stories. Katie and Michelle are both board members and their dedication to this organization and its work was readily apparent.

League of Enchantment

All members are volunteers who not only give freely of their time, but also buy their costumes and pay for their own gas money to go to events. As an organization, they do about 14-20 events per month! The League of Enchantment offers a training program for all volunteers as well as a program to help them when visiting hospitals and spending time with children and their parents. They try to balance the fun of cosplay and bringing a smile to kids’ faces with the serious work they do helping children and their families.

Katie and Michelle did such an amazing job conveying the meaningful work they do and the impact they have on our community. It brought tears to the eyes of the participants and sincere thanks to this organization for all they do for our community.
