A bathroom remodel is an exciting chance to refresh your home with improved functionality, durable and easy-to-maintain materials, and an updated style. Planning a new bathroom design may seem like a complicated process since there are many decisions to make around layout, materials, and color schemes.
It helps to look at designs on websites or social media, or to browse in person at a full-service design showroom, to help you find inspiration for your new bathroom. To help you get started, let’s explore some of our team’s recent top bath designs.
Eye-Catching Details Bath Design
This beautiful bathroom design transformed the space, giving it a more open feel while creating a warm, stylish room. The new design included a luxury shower design that removed the high step-up in the old shower and gave the room a more spacious feel. Wet Wall materials on the shower walls and behind the toilet, along with a frameless glass panel, contribute to the bathroom’s open feel.
The bathroom also incorporated a mosaic floor material that extends from the bathroom floor into the shower with no threshold, creating a non-slip surface for a busy bathroom. The design enhanced the bathroom’s shower options by installing Grohe shower fixtures that gave the homeowner more control over water pressure and temperature. The bathroom has an eye-catching style with beautiful accents like the two-tone cabinet hardware and faucets, and the striking wallpaper above the vanity.
Space to Relax Bath
This bath design has an open, relaxed feel with natural touches that enhance the soothing atmosphere. A frameless glass shower enclosure with a hinged door contributes to the room’s open feel and reveals a stylish tile design with a linear tile feature, multiple matte black showerheads, and recessed storage niches. Next to the shower is a freestanding tub situated in the corner and surrounded by plants.
A blue vanity cabinet adds a vibrant dash of color to the bathroom design. The double vanity has plenty of storage and two sinks with matte black faucets. A central tower cabinet divides the vanity and enhances the room’s storage options. Each sink is paired with a frameless oval mirror and vanity lights to create a well-lit and stylish space to get ready.
A Soothing Spa Vibe
Imagine stepping into this soothing bath design after a long day! The master bathroom has the ultimate soothing spa-style vibe, which is the perfect antidote to a busy, modern lifestyle.
The old master bath in this home had a jetted tub with a large surround that ran the length of the back window wall. This made the bathroom feel smaller than it was and resulted in a small shower for the size of the bathroom. The vanity cabinet also lacked functional storage and effective space to get ready.
The bathroom remodel presented an opportunity to reinvent the space and make better use of the bathroom’s footprint. By removing the large tub surround, we were able to create an efficient layout with improved features throughout the room. The new design also made the layout feel bigger, which met one of the client’s key design priorities.
The new, larger shower is a luxurious and practical zero-entry shower with a European-style shower door. The old tub was replaced with a sleek, spa-style freestanding tub that sits by the window, offering an ideal place to relax and unwind. Underfloor heating was added to help keep the tile floor warm, which adds to the soothing, spa vibe.
The new vanity cabinet in a warm wood tone enhances the room’s style and functionality. It includes highly functional storage across the double vanity with a central tower cabinet to divide the “his and hers” spaces. The two vanity sinks pair with a single lever faucet and a frameless vanity mirror.
Glamorous Master Bath Design
Proving that design inspiration can come from anywhere this stunning bathroom design was inspired by the unique wallpaper pattern chosen by the client. With this wallpaper serving as the muse, we worked with the client to find the ideal fixtures and finishes to complement and enhance the color scheme and design aesthetic. In particular, the client wanted a design with a cheery feel and high-contrast finishes. The result is a striking bathroom with an eclectic vibe and a Victorian flair.
We enhanced the space by removing the soffits above the sink and then installed tower cabinets on either side of the sink to accentuate the height of the room. The towers were topped with a transitional arts and crafts Victorian crown molding, giving the vanity cabinet a unique style.
The color scheme inspired by the wallpaper includes a rich blue vanity cabinet paired with a high-contrast white quartz countertop. Bronze hardware and plumbing fixtures offer contrast to the dark blue vanity cabinet and give the room a distinct sophisticated vibe. The new Swedish massage bathtub paired with a striking leaf chandelier are two of the client’s favorite features and contribute to a stunning and functional master bath design.
Two Bathrooms with a Rustic Feel
This home remodel included two bathroom designs, where the client wanted to create a rustic yet polished design with features that cater to aging in place. The McDaniels team delivered with beautiful fixtures, rustic textures, and features that balance style with safety like grab bars and comfort height toilets.
By removing a jacuzzi tub with a large platform that took up a lot of space in one bathroom, we were able to include a luxurious, freestanding soaking tub with a floor-mounted faucet and plenty of grab bars for safety. The other bathroom includes a beautiful alcove shower with glass doors and a striking hexagonal mosaic tile wall. Both bathrooms include plenty of light with can lights in the ceiling and LED-lit mirrored medicine cabinets.
We introduced rustic textures in the floor tile that have a worn wood grain look but are so easy to maintain. The client says is her favorite feature since it is beautiful, does not show up dirt, and is easy to clean. The vanities in both bathrooms provide plenty of storage and accent the room’s style, one bathroom in a warm wood tone and the other in a distressed white finish. They are both paired with undermount sinks with new quartz countertops. The client also wanted to include open storage for towels, and we met this requirement by incorporating floating shelves for accessible storage and display.
Showstopping Powder Room Design
This half-bath transformation shows the impact a compact remodel can have on your home. The client wanted to create an updated look for their powder room, combining Mid-Century and contemporary design styles. They also wanted this powder room to be a showstopping focal point on the home’s first floor to greet guests as they enter this home.
The new design has the added benefit of making the compact bathroom appear larger without moving any walls or windows. The design includes a stunning patterned floor tile that immediately draws the eye. The floating wood vanity cabinet in a rich tone balances the tile floor. It creates a beautiful focal point paired with a vessel sink and single-lever faucet. The room is beautifully lit, including undercabinet lights and an LED-lit mirror. The result is a powder room design that is sure to be the star of the show in this home.
Balancing Traditional and Contemporary
This bath design presented unique challenges, but the McDaniels team was up to the task! The client wanted to work with existing elements of the 1890s home while also creating a contemporary, stylish, and functional bathroom. They also wanted to enlarge the bath design to allow for a more spacious layout and make the room brighter by introducing more light into the space.
The foundation of this design started with a custom vanity cabinet designed to fit underneath the existing antique leaded stained glass windows. To expand the layout, we removed a bedroom side wall and extended the bathroom by 30” to align with the master closet wall. Removing all soffits and heavy cherry wainscoting helped to further open up the space and give it a more modern feel.
The bathroom’s soft neutral color scheme creates a soothing vibe and lets the beautiful stained glass windows stand out. The frameless glass shower door and large format tile add a contemporary edge to the design, while a half wall separates the shower from the toilet. LED-lit mirrors above the double vanity’s two sinks enhance the room’s lighting design. The result is a bath design that balances contemporary style, modern materials and fixtures, and the home’s original features.
Bright Hall Bath Design
This narrow hall bath design gets a fresh look and improved functionality and proves what a difference a remodel can make on any bathroom. The clients for this bath remodel wanted an updated style with a lighter and brighter feel, balanced with enhanced functionality. The bathroom updates included removing carpeting from the floor, changing the bathroom fixtures to white for a crisp, modern feel, enhancing storage, and adding grab bars for safety in a finish that matches the design.
A new vanity cabinet with a wall cabinet over the toilet provided plenty of storage for this hall bathroom. Paired with a quartz countertop and a single lever faucet, the new vanity is a sleek, stylish addition to this bath design. Plenty of grab bars in the tub/shower combination ensure that this bathroom is a safe environment for all users of the shower. A gray wave tile on the shower walls is a highlight of this bathroom’s style, creating a stunning visual and textural focal point for the bathroom.
