Is it time to start planning a new kitchen design for your home? If so, you may know your kitchen needs an update but be undecided about what exactly needs to be done.

  • Can you create the kitchen of your dreams using your home’s existing layout?
  • Or do you need to consider structural changes such as knocking down an internal wall or bumping out an external wall to expand your kitchen’s layout?
  • Is everything in your kitchen outdated and in need of being replaced or are there elements, such as appliances, that you can retain in your new kitchen?
  • Is your style long overdue for a complete update or do you love your kitchen cabinet color scheme but just need to improve the functionality and storage?

It can be difficult to pinpoint exactly where to focus your efforts when planning a kitchen remodel. You also have to balance your design dreams with your available budget, which means you may have to prioritize elements of your design to focus your budget dollars on the most important items.

Custom Two-Tone Kitchen Design

The two-tone kitchen design is still a top trend and it’s easy to see why when you look at this beautiful kitchen! The custom kitchen cabinet design pairs a warm wood island and range hood with classic white perimeter cabinets. A Cambria quartz countertop with dramatic gray veining pairs beautifully with the light gray apron front sink, which balances and coordinates with the cabinets and white subway tile backsplash.

The kitchen underwent a badly needed functionality transformation resulting in an improved kitchen layout and enhanced storage solutions. The range was previously located next to the dishwasher, which created an unnecessarily cramped work zone. Moving the range and pairing it with a striking wood hood also creates a clear focal point. The new island is larger and straighter, which further enhances the storage and workspace in this kitchen.

Bright Family Kitchen Design

The light, airy style of this kitchen design is updated with contrasting tones and patterns in the dark blue picket tile backsplash, which draws the eye as soon as you enter the room. The kitchen remodel included removing much of the wall between the kitchen and the old family room to create a larger, open kitchen that serves as a space to gather in this home. The large island incorporates a tabletop end that replaces the need for a dining table and creates a kitchen geared to family life and entertainment.

The new kitchen added updated and highly functional appliances that make cooking a breeze. It also includes timeless finishes that give the space a classic style. White perimeter and coffee bar cabinets brighten up the room and are balanced by a warm wood island and wood-toned laminate flooring.

White and Rose Gold Kitchen

This striking, one-of-a-kind kitchen design is characterized by a classic white cabinet design paired with rose gold cabinet door and appliance hardware. The L-shaped cabinet layout works together with a curved kitchen island to create an efficient work zone in a sociable, open plan kitchen. The upper cabinets framing the cooking space include glass-front doors with in-cabinet lighting that enhance the room’s bright feel.

The cabinets are topped with a striking quartz countertop with rose gold veining that matches the hardware. A classic white subway tile backsplash and wall-mounted chimney hood complete the room’s look. Customized storage features such as the narrow pull-outs on either side of the range maximize the available space to create an organized and clutter-free kitchen. Directly off of the main kitchen is a butler’s pantry with matching cabinetry and countertops, plus a second sink for a functional and stylish addition to the home.

Traditional Cream Kitchen Design

In this compact kitchen design, the room’s style and functionality were updated to maximize the floor plan, create improved storage solutions, and enhance the style with better products and materials. The old thermofoil cabinets and laminate countertops were replaced with real wood and quartz tops, which gives the room an updated style but also improves the design’s longevity. The soft tones of the room give it a classic style with Medallion Gold cream-painted kitchen cabinets paired with a soft gray countertop, all accented by deep-stained hickory wood flooring.

Storage in the new kitchen design includes a customized pantry to keep the space organized and clutter-free. It even incorporates space for countertop appliances, which means the main countertops are clear and ready to use for food prep and serving. Glass-door wall cabinets are ideal for storing the home’s cream-colored dishes, which blend with the design aesthetic and color scheme. Classic crown molding finishes off the cabinet design and gives it a custom built-in look.

Lake View Kitchen Design

This kitchen design took the room’s style and functionality from an outdated, dark 1970s kitchen to a bright, contemporary space. The design transformation allowed the homeowner to take advantage of the home’s beautiful lake views. By tearing down the wall between the kitchen and living space, we created an open plan kitchen that allowed a view of the lake from the kitchen.

The bright color scheme is reminiscent of this lake view with classic white perimeter cabinets paired with a dusty blue island. A white picket mosaic backsplash adds visual interest to the design while maintaining a neutral backdrop. The white countertop includes touches of blue, which ties together the room’s color scheme. The island is framed by a dramatic double waterfall countertop with a seating overhang for four people. This countertop style draws attention to the kitchen and creates a focal point for home life and entertainment.

Wood and Painted Black Kitchen

This two-tone kitchen design color scheme gets a new twist by pairing light wood-stained and black-painted cabinet finishes. The striking color scheme retains a bright, contemporary feel with the lighter cabinet color on the walls, along with floating shelves. The base cabinets and an adjacent wall of cabinets surrounding the refrigerator are in a sophisticated black tone.

The stylish cabinet design is equally high functioning with plenty of customized storage solutions. This includes tall pantry storage pull-outs, a raised cabinet that leaves space for shoe storage, a corner Lazy Susan, and an appliance garage. The kitchen layout creates an efficient work zone and opens up to a dining area with a kitchen table. This kitchen benefits from natural light and a multi-layered lighting design with pendants and recessed lights.

A Designer Condo Kitchen

This kitchen design is proof that big things come in small packages! The design was created for a client who had downsized to a condo but wanted a kitchen that fit their lifestyle. The midline cabinet design was created to maximize the compact space and make the room feel larger with cabinets at different heights to emphasize the room’s vaulted ceiling. The high-contrast quartz countertop and glass backsplash are as practical as they are stylish.

The two-tone painted cabinet design includes a tall lighted display cabinet with glass doors facing the dining room. The cabinetry also incorporates ample customized storage solutions, including a blind corner pull-out, drawer banks, tall base cabinets in the raised bar facing toward the dining/living room where they can easily access dishes, and trash can pull-outs. Appliances were selected to fit the client’s needs, with, for example, a small induction cooktop and single wall oven.

Kitchen with Warm Wood Accents

This cool gray kitchen cabinet design is softened by a white painted island with warm wood accents. The island includes a wood countertop and open storage with wood shelves. The kitchen’s wood-stained flooring complements the island’s wood accents, giving the space a warm feel and balancing the gray cabinets.

The kitchen includes plenty of storage in the base and wall cabinets, including a combination of drawers, cabinets, and corner cabinet storage. The perimeter cabinets include a white countertop that brightens the room, especially when combined with undercabinet lighting. Stainless steel appliances and a stainless-steel wall-mount chimney hood are a classic choice for this design.
