We continued our monthly Partners in Design event series in August with a visit from Bob Matthiesen of Pop-ity Popcorn Co. This monthly event series offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to bring a range of local businesses and organizations into our Lansing, MI showroom, along with the local leaders who make our community what it is. They join us to share their story, knowledge, and expertise with our event participants. These events are a highlight of McDaniels’ calendar, enjoyed by our team and members of our community.
All About Partners in Design
Partners in Design has been a unique opportunity to open our doors up to local entrepreneurs, community leaders, and volunteers. They join us in our Lansing, MI showroom to share their unique story, including insights into their business journey, the goals of their organization, and their products and services. Our Partners in Design participants have included a wide range of organizations, including food establishments, landscaping companies, art galleries, local stores, and voluntary organizations.
At all our events, participants benefit from an engaging, educational, and fun presentation, which offers insights into everything our local area has to offer. Some participants even offer a selection of goods for sale, demonstrations of their products, or delicious food samples. From food to local products to unique art, every event is a new opportunity to learn something alongside other members of the local community.
Our August Design Partner
Pop-ity Popcorn Co. has been a Lansing tradition since 1976. The locally owned business has delighted generations of customers with handcrafted gourmet popcorn and exceptional customer service. In 2017, Bob made the leap from a successful career in lawn care to purchasing the iconic popcorn company, embracing the opportunity to continue a local legacy while building one of Mid-Michigan’s favorite small businesses.
Our July Partners in Design Event
We had a very inspiring presentation from Bob Matthiesen of Pop-ity Popcorn Co. He shared his journey with us, including the many varied directions his career has taken. He also told us how all his varied experiences prepared him to be the successful businessman that he is now. He applies his many years of customer service background to his current business and has become a very caring leader. Bob continually creates new flavors and has the final say in what goes to market. He has built a great relationship with schools, businesses, the Lansing Lugnuts, wineries, and more. The participants all left inspired and were happy to enjoy the treats!
