We finished off our 2025 Partners in Design events with a visit from Nicole Raysin of Custom Cake Designs. We hosted a diverse range of businesses and organizations this year as part of our Partners in Design event series, and hosted our 2nd Annual Holiday Craft Market in November. From food establishments to volunteer organizations, our Partners in Design series is a highlight of our monthly calendar. Nicole’s visit was the perfect way to round out the year’s events and get in the holiday spirit.
What is Partners in Design?
McDaniels Kitchen and Bath has enjoyed highlighting our local community by welcoming a wide range of the area’s best businesses, service providers, and voluntary organizations. Our monthly events let us connect with our local community and learn about the best that our area has to offer. Each monthly Partner in Design event brings a unique perspective to our participants and offers a fun, educational, and engaging experience. Past design partners included art galleries, food establishments, gift shops, amazing volunteer and community organizations, and much more.
Who Was Our December Design Partner?
Nicole Raysin is a valued member of McDaniels’ own design team, and she runs her own business, Custom Cake Designs. Nicole established Custom Cake Designs in 2003 and now runs this successful business from her home in Vernon, MI. Nicole started by baking her daughter’s birthday cake, which allowed her to combine her background in art with her love of baking. Over more than two decades, she has grown her business to incorporate custom cakes, gourmet cupcakes, handmade chocolates, and full custom dessert bars for special events. We are truly amazed at Nicole’s talent and creativity!
What Happened at Our December Partners in Design Event?
Nicole got us in the holiday spirit with instructions on how to make one of her most sought-after desserts, a fresh fruit tart. It is a beautiful and delicious dessert that will wow your family and friends! She also shared more about her business journey in a creative presentation that provided the history of Custom Cake Designs. Nicole has even created a cake with Gene Simmons’ face from the group KISS, which he saw on social media and commented on. Over the years, Nicole has expanded her offerings from cakes to candy, bread, and much more. We had a record attendance at this Partners in Design event, where Nicole also offered delicious samples and a range of baked goods for sale.
