Our popular Partners in Design event series continued in February with a return visit from Malinda Barr of the Beeswax Barrn. We host a new design partner each month in our Lansing, MI showroom, with a wide range of businesses and organizations participating. Each design partner shares their knowledge, expertise, and experience with our participants. Partners in Design events are a highlight of our calendar at McDaniels. We have enjoyed learning about everything our community has to offer, from food establishments to community organizations and much more.
What is Partners in Design?
We have been hosting Partners in Design events for over four years, and they keep getting better! This unique event series lets us connect with our local community, including a range of businesses and organizations. Our participants get a unique experience and an opportunity to learn about the variety of products and services available throughout our local area. Each month, our design partners provide a fun, educational, and engaging experience with a presentation, samples of their products, and sometimes even products for sale. Our past design partners represented volunteer organizations and local businesses that provide everything from photo restoration to custom desserts, clothing, local gifts, and much more.
Who Was Our February Design Partner?
In February, we welcomed back Malinda Barr of Beeswax Barrn for her second time participating in Partners in Design. This Haslett, MI based business takes pride in creating 100% Beeswax products local beeswax that harnesses the natural goodness of beeswax while promoting health and eco-friendliness.
What Happened at Our February Event?
Malinda is very passionate about the health benefits of beeswax, and in particular beeswax candles. She offered an interesting and engaging presentation to our participants, giving everyone insights into beeswax, its uses, and the many benefits associated with it.
She and her husband started their business over 20 years ago when her husband started making beeswax candles. They purchase their beeswax from Michigan beekeepers and process their own candle wax. Their range of products has evolved to also include skin care, body care, and sun screen. The also offer fun and educational candle making parties with various sizes and styles of candles.
We had a great turnout at this event. Malinda gave our participants great insights into beeswax and even offered candles for sale. It was a great day!
A Sneak Peek at Our Next Partners in Design Event!
Our March design partner is Lori Conarton from MorningLory Café and Bakery in Dimondale, Michigan. They opened in the summer of 2018 to provide a place where people can gather, talk over a hot cup of coffee and enjoy homecooked food. We can’t wait to hear all about this amazing local business. Lori joins us is presenting on March 17, 2026 from 3 – 4:00 pm.
